Procedure detail
FUT performed on a 45 year old Caucasian male with:- NW III vertex Class N
 - Donor density of 70-80 FU/cm2
 - Hair diameter of ~65 microns
Treatment plan:
A Follicular Unit Strip procedure with 2500-2700 follicular units to reconstruct the entire hair line and fill in the mid head area without recipient site shaving.
Performed procedure (November 5th, 2010):
 A Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 2858 FU
 * 623 single hair FU
 * 1953 double hair FU
 * 282 triple hair FU
 Donor closing in double layer suture technique;
 Parallel incisions (single, double and triple units) were made in custom-sized blades technique (~Cutting Edge blades of 0.75mm – 1.05mm);
 Dense packing technique with a density of 50-55 FU/cm2 in hair line and feather zone (single units), a density of 40-50 FU/cm2 in density zone (double units).
This patient has a 'salt and pepper' hair color so we asked him to color his hair 1 day preoperative in order to have a better view during the microscopic slivering and cutting.
