Procedure detail
Bernstein Medical - Center for Hair Restoration Patient ACQ has medium weight, wiry, light brown hair with advanced Norwood Class 6 hair loss. Results following three hair transplant sessions totaling 5,966 follicular unit grafts.
Patient ACQ was interested in a very dense dramatic look that was accomplished in three sessions of 2,461, 2,054 and 1,451 follicular unit grafts. Note the position and shape of the hairline and the appearance after three sessions.
In long-standing baldness, with the follicles gone, the scalp’s rich blood supply begins to diminish. Sun damage also damages the scalp’s connective tissue and alters the blood supply. Because of this, we prefer to transplant large, but not excessive numbers of grafts in the first session, in order to maximize growth. Once the first transplant is performed, the rich blood supply returns to the scalp and additional grafts may be supported.
